RE: Cigar Smokers, Unite! What's your favorite cigar?

....So, my fellow enjoyers of fine libations, what are you favorites?I must admit I do have a favorite brand of cigar. Unfortunately, I do not recall the name of it, but I can describe it. It is available in either blue or pink, and has a flavor rather on the sweet side. In fact, the flavor is so pronounced on this cigar, I don't even bother trying to light up . . . . I just chew on the dang thing for awhile and then throw it away.:C

RE: Why Nutro Natural Choice dog food is the best

All I know is that I'm not supposed to eat too much of what is bad for me. But, at my age I've decided to eat whatever I want and if I die from it, then I die. One may say that life is too short to worry about such things, but in my case, life has (so far) lasted a long time and will continue until it doesn't.
What does this have to do with dog food you ask? Not a whole lot other than we can become too engrossed with stats, ingredients, etc to the point that only a dietician or DVM MIGHT understand what is "good" and what isn't. For me and my dogs, I will continue to feed the best quality food I can find that is good for them, available wherever I happen to be (the same brand, that is), and doesn't bust the bank.
Don't overload me with too much data - just tell me (in the future) what is good for the type of dogs that I have (Sheltie and Golden) and I'll look on with interest at what is good for other dogs as well. After breeding, raising and showing Shelties for over 20 years in Europe and the States, I have a pretty good idea of what is going on but I always want to learn more, if I can.
Walter - not only are Shelties and Goldens more popular that GSDs, but are also better. So there!:BDennis - I was agreeing with everything you were saying there

RE: Why Nutro Natural Choice dog food is the best

OK, well . . . . . . I reckon that about wraps it up for this edition of the annual "Dog Food Follies". Nutro remains on top nationally, with BARF remaining popular in California. No surprises this time around.:B

RE: PBS Nature: Dogs That Changed The World

Walter,
I've seen it a few times...
And here I thought it was a brand new show!:S
They talked about a "religious symbol" type dog last night also. The one that's bred to be hairless except for that little "mohawk" on it's head and back, whatever breed that is.:p

I'm not so sure about your prose, Mike, but I will say that PN was certainly one of my very favorite actors.

PBS Nature: Dogs That Changed The World

Anybody else watch this last night?
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/dogs-that-changed-the-world/introduction/1273/
I found it pretty interesting. There is a Part 2 coming up, but I don't know exactly when right now.
Mark (BCSnob), there was a particularly interesting segment last night showing BC's herding sheep on the side of a very steep, rocky mountainside!!:E:C

RE: Why Nutro Natural Choice dog food is the best

...I knew the tongue in cheek aspect and enjoyed it as I did the one about the best dog. We all know that a GSD is WAY down the list, certainly far behind Shelties and Goldens...Dennis, Dennis, Dennis.:R
In my other topic I was merely stating which breed of dog was the best, not the most popular.:R:W

As a Senior Member, I believe it is part of my RV.NET civic duty to keep the dog food topic alive. Therefore, I revive it at least once a year.:W

RE: Our new neighbor

The first thing I thought when I saw the pic of the Llama next to the fence was, "Can't they jump over that thing?" :@
I guess since I've seen so many around deer around here jump over tall fences that I kinda expect anything about their size to be able to do the same thing. :R:B

....Walter: do we really have to WAIT until next summer to enroll him as a DOTL???? As soon a I can get a good head shot....Gen. Gretchen says,
"Naaaa, we don't need to make the boy wait. We'll be needing all the good and heroic DOTL's we can get before the long, cold winter is over!"

RE: No Country For Old Men .... best picture ??

....I like darker movies. . . with sad endings for some reason...That's nornmally what we get when we watch local and national news . . . . sad endings. For the most part, very depressing.
I guess thats why I don't like movies that leave me feeling depressed at the end. Yes, I know we should stick with comedies, or at least dramas where the bad guys "gets his" in the end!:C

RE: No Country For Old Men .... best picture ??

I revived this topic because we finally watched NCFOM last night. We had no expectations at all, in fact, we didn't even know what the movie was about until we started watching it. Hee hee . . . we're kind of "out of the loop" when it comes to current movies. :R
Anyway, since we both like Tommie Lee Jones, we thought we'd give the movie a look. End result . . . . . big disappointment! :h Neither one of us can stand movies that have endings that are basicly "non-endings".:? There was no closure on this movie at all, there was no ending. The bad guy gets away with only a compound fracture of his arm!!?? Thats the ending??? There's no justice in that:M
In a nutshell, the bad guy wins in this movie. I hate movies like that because it's too much like real life. I want the good guys to win every time!:C
